TAMPA, Fla. (970 WFLA/AP)- The Hillsborough county sheriff's office says a pedestrian was struck and killed by a passing freight train in Tampa.
The man has not yet been identified.
The sheriff's office says the engineer of the train noticed the man walking close to the tracks and blew the horn. The man moved away from the tracks but then turned back toward it at the last minute and was hit by the train.
He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
