ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (970 WFLA) – The Florida Highway Patrol said a 50-year-old man standing in the road was struck by three vehicles Sunday evening.
Troopers said it happened just after 7:00 p.m.
According to the FHP report, all three vehicles were traveling eastbound in the inside lane of Gandy Boulevard approaching Snug Harbor Road NE.
Troopers said the man was standing in between the outside and inside lane of eastbound Gandy Boulevard at SnugHarbor. They said the first driver was unable to see him until moments before, tried to swerve to avoid him, but ended up striking the man. Then, troopers said the man fell into the inside lane and was struck by two other vehicles successively.
Troopers said the man died at the scene.
