Crews investigate two fires at Duke Energy plant

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (970 WFLA) - Fire crews say they are on the scene of the Duke Energy plant in St. Petersburg after two fires broke out overnight.

Officials say the first fire broke out around 12:30 am in a transformer. Crews say there is 300 gallons of oil leaking. When firefighters put that fire out, they say they found another in a paper filter that smoldered for several hours and is out now.

Officials say there was no disruption of power.

No one was injured.
